I have my Rottweiler insured with Protect Your Bubble and a couple of weeks ago she had an unfortunate incident with a smaller dog she didn’t like the look off. After the initial panic thankfully with a few stitches and some TLC the little dog is now repaired and Protect Your Bubble paid out promptly so I didn’t have to worry about the stress of paying for the bill when I couldn’t afford it. The £75 excess is reasonable for peace of mind.
I have a pet Jack Russell and I have a date for which I am going in to hospital now I phoned up PYB to ask how I go about putting my dog into kennels whilst I’m in hospital first I was met with Oh! well the problem is your contract is about to run out and even though you are in the process of a continuation the contract does state that you are not covered for any event that may arise if you know about it before you start a contract with the insurer to which I said that this is a continuation policy so if I’d waited a couple of days for the cross over date you would be fine with that she said yes! then she told me to wait a second while she discusses this point with another operator then she came back with that two other operators were arguing the meaning of the wording to which they then decided that it would of been OK if the hospital time I was going to have had been an emergency and also that the time I spent in hospital was 5 days or more then I would be able to put a claim in but because I was in the process of starting a new contract and because I’d phoned up in advance and told them of the hospital appointment and that I would be staying in for an unknown amount of time then I would now not be able to make preparations for kenneling my dog with a view to make a claim so with that in mind and also the fact that the operators were arguing in the back ground of what the policy actually covered btw I had paid for the full top notch policy which clearly states kenneling with the cover fee up to £1000 which ultimately proved to be worth not even the paper it was printed on I canceled the next policy that was due to start in a few days the operator then asked me why am I canceling lol
Stay well clear of this company i have a claim with them at the moment and they are delaying with excuses.
I have paid my vet £300 in May 2011 and when i rang them to why i have not been paid there reason was my vet did not put the full years clinical history on form i did say that there is no medical history to put on as my pet is 8yrs and this the first claim and was put on there system when i took the policy with them delay tricks most insurance will lend you a umbrella when it’s sunny when it rains they will take it of you.

Transfered all my dogs (3 of them) to this insurer late into 2010 when previous insurer more than doubled the premums and had taken over 6 months to assess a relatively minor claim.(under £200) have unfortunately had to claim for a minor njury to one dog total cost around £120. The claim was dealt with quickly and paid in full apart of course from the standard excess.
The premium for this dog was at least a third less than the previous insurer – before they tried to put the big increase on. So far so good I am impressed, but then I was impressed this time last year with the company I was with then. Fingers crossed.
One of my dogs had a major accident and was transfered to a vets collage, I have had to fight tooth and nail with protect my bubble to get them to pay the hugh bill, my dog died and they have just made the whole process a 1000 times worse:(( They took over 60 days to settle and have still not paid out in full, I am fighting them again to get the rest paid out and to get 2 months premiums refunded that they took after my dog had died. They make loads of excuses, not received paperwork ect and I have made lots of phone calls to them and its not a free phone number. The policy may look good value but their claims and customer service stinks, I will be moving my other dogs elsewhere and reporting this company to the ombedsman
When my Spaniel got hit by a car last month, I wouldn’t have been able to afford the bills without Protect your bubble. They were so great and really sympathetic on the phone. All insurance should be as easy as this.

As an sfter thought I wish I had rated nothing in any section as the ’stars’ I have given them makes them look loads better than they are
