More Than now offers 2 pet covers: Pet Saver is a time limited policy which cover each unrelated illness and accident up to £3,000 for the first 12 months, whereas Pet Insurance covers up to £7,000 per condition with no time limit to claim. Premiums start from just £3.92 a month when you buy online with the 20% discount. Vetfone service is also provided free of charge.
We purchased Pet Insurance for our 18 month old dog just under 12 months ago with More Than. Having used a price matching online facility we found that More Than offered the best price for our needs. Signing up was easy online and got our dog insured there and then. The choice of payments was good and we decided to pay by direct debit each month.
Luckily we have not been in touch with More Than since but have peace of mind should anything happen to our dog. Renewal is due soon and we will definately be renewing.
I would highly recommend More Than for a friendly service and very competitive quote.
We bought pet insurance for our two cats and then extended it 2 months later for our new kitten. To be honest, we found them using a couple of price comparison sites and considering our needs they were by far the cheapest.
Although we haven’t had to claim or renew as of yet, I was very pleased with the price to extend the insurance to our third cat, we were given a very reasonable price which I would say rewarded our loyalty to the brand.

On balance the best pet insurer I have been with. Althought they have given misinformation over teh time I have been with them generally they have a very helpful attitude, prompt and efficient service, a fair price and they want to pay your claim and not find a reason to reject it.
Be very careful about MoreTh>n pet insurance. Their complementary cover sounds good, but all has to be carried out by a vet at a veterinary surgery. So, if your pet needs physiotherapy, you will not be able to have your pet treated by the Chartered Veterinary Physiotherapist of your choice even if they are a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy. How many vets do you know that have physiotherapy training? Would you want your GP to treat you after your knee replacement? Other pet insurance companies that cover physio and hydro will accept ACPAT physiotherapists.
We have both are dogs insured with More than…They have paid very quick for a slip disk we have with one of are dogs…
But to be told that we NOW have to pay 20% final bill on top as well as the excess for are older dog (never claimed for her)after ten years is terible from any standered of insurence.you are penalize after paying in for ten years with out one
I have been with More Than for 8 years, so my dog (cross collie) was 8 at the start. for 5 years I paid a premium in the late£teens to the late£twenties.I had very little if any claims.
3 years ago the dog was diagnosed with an enlarged heart. This was in June, however, when my renewal premium arrived in September it had risen by around 50%.
Because Jess was now dependent on expensive medication long term I felt too vulnerable to challenge the company.
Each year since the premium has risen steeply. Jess is now 16 and it is the same medication with no other claims or complications.
This year I have my renewal and it is now costing me a similar amount in premiums as it is costing the company to “honour” the existing claim.
They make matters worse by giving all the “we care” style of literature and even boast that unlike other insurers they won’t stop paying….it is all slight of hand and disingenuous nonsense. This year I have tried to challenge them but all I get are call centre staff who have no decision making powers and a system that keeps the customer from challenging the people who decide on the premium…I am stuck with them because of my dogs heart trouble but I would encourage others to be wary of this company and possibly others.
