Healthy Pets has been a specialist provider of cheap pet insurance since 1996. Customers can choose from 3 cover levels: Bronze for up to £1,000 in vet fees per condition, Silver for up to £4,000 and Gold for up to £7,500, all per condition. They can pay the vet direct and also provide a range of free helplines.
Healthy Pets Insurance are a pleasure to deal with. I have tried other insurers in the past but Healthy Pets have competitive premiums, excellent customer service, and dealt with my claim quickly. I recommend them to all my friends and will continue to stay with Healthy Pets in the future.
We started using Healthy Pets 3 years go and haven't looked back since! We have had to make various claims over the years and they have always honored their promises. We would have had to pay out literally thousands for Milly's ongoing condition! We can only but recommend Healthy Pets for all your pet insurance needs. 5 stars!
Alden has been insured with Healthy pets pet insurance for 5 years now. We have only had to claim a couple times but Healthy pets have always paid up when we needed them to. Compared to other insurers their pet insurance is also good value for money. We are on a budget so getting the best pet insurance for the money is a must for us and Alden. Nothing really to complain about, the premiums have gone up each year but not by a huge amount.

My premium has just gone up this year by 53% without any claim being made in 3 years. The reason for this was given that veterinary inflation is running at 15% for over 5 years.
Well I my premiums have not increased so I don’t know what’s going on there
We have had Rolo insured with Healthy pets for the last 3 years and never had a problem with the premiums. We were originally with another pet insurer but swapped over to Healthy pets as they failed pay a valid claim. Healthy pets have so far honored every claim.
We have just had to make our first claim for surgery on our 6 year old lab Dexter. Although our premium has risen in recent years we were impressed with the customer service and support that Healthy pets provides. They were very polite, patient and settled with the vet directly. We also liked the fact that they paid for a kennelling fees when we went on holiday last June.
I left my previous insurer for Healthy Pets and have not looked back since. Good value for money insurance and excellent customer service. We have had to claim £2,500 for Lola so far and have never had a problem when claiming.
Please note that a lot of these reviews were written in 2010. Healthy Pets now how new underwriters who have trebled premiums – I now pay £39 per month, when I paid £12 per month last year. On top of that they have increased the excess and only pay 75% of the claim. DO NOT USE HEALTHY PETS INSURANCE!
I have to back up what Brenda says regarding the price increase. I have used them for the past 5 years and they have been great, until I received my renewal notice this morning and my premiums have gone up by 44.2% (and they only pay 75% of any claim on one of my dogs because she is older). Thing is they have changed to AXA as their underwriters, but they were with AXA before and I didn’t have any problems, then they changed underwriters and now they have changed back again, so who knows whats going on! Be wary is the best advice I could offer on Healthy Pets at the moment.
Started off paying £18 per month for my dog. Never put in a claim and after just one year, my premium more than doubled to £40! Reason given…many more claims being made…Not on my policy!!!!
Have been using Healthy Pets for 5 years on one dog and 3 years on another, making one claim for £50. My premiums have nearly trebled due to ‘the large number of claims’ – clearly not made by me! I am now looking for an alternative.
I’ve been with them for over 6yrs, huge premium hike this year & excess is £75 standard +25% for a cat who’s reached 6 yrs old, with all the extra money they are taking you would expect better customer service, also takes them 3 to 4 months to settle an ongoing claim now! go to a better insurer dont risk this company, you really dont get what you pay for & your pet deserves better.
