E&L pet insurance has been established for over 20 years and offers four cover levels up to £6,000 in vet fees per condition. You can opt for a monthly or yearly policy and get online discount of 20% + an extra 10% discount for insuring another pet.

well where should I start. Do not insure with this company! Got from a comparison site as seemed value for money but our vets (and all vets have since found out) make you pay all your costs up front as they have a bad reputation for not paying out for months. We had to pay nearly £700 up front! customer service also not good and they mixed up my cheque twice and send to the vet instead of myself.
We have two black labradors that are now 14 months old; for the first year they were covered at £8.78 each per calender month and we made one claim when one dog needed an X-Ray. We paid and claimed back with loads of paperwork and hassle, they lost the original claim and it was all re-sent. The second year premium has increased by 50% for each dog even though they have now been castrated and should be a cheaper option to insure. They have not answered the phone and have not replied to emails, do not use this company to save a few pence!
Watch out for the small print. If you have to take your dog to an emergency vet out of hours you will not get anything back for the cost. I have lost £85 quid as my dog was having breathing difficulties at ten o’clock at night. As said previously do not use this company you might as well keep the money in the bank.
We now have a puppy and are looking around for insurers. Previous dog was insured with E&L. They refused to pay out a claim we made when our dog injured his leg saying we had claimed prior despite this being a different leg. Took the case up with the ombudsman who found in favour of us. Be cautious with this company.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT ELDERLY PET FRIENDLY. My dog is 13 years old and I have just cancelled my policy because they will no long insure her for growths, cysts, tumours, cancer and bone diseases. All elderly animal illnesses. I now have to use my own savings for her arthritus medication. They maybe cheap but you get less than what you pay for. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.Rating: NIL STARS.
