Direct Line were the cheapest company when I first got my cat. When she was 3 years old she had kidney failure and was very ill. Direct Line were efficient on the phone, sent out the forms quickly and processed my claim quickly with no problem. They even paid for more expensive drops that I chose to have when I struggled to get my cat to take tablets. The price is reasonable, less than £10 a month currently, and they promise to cover your pet for life. The only downside is that they will only cover each condition for 12 months. They also recently sent me a fleece blanket for renewing with them, which I thought was a nice touch.
When I got my first dog I definately wanted to take out insurance as I knew anything could go wrong. After getting so many different quotes on the internet Direct Line was by far the most reasonable for what you get. Reasonable excess fee, reasonable premium and reasonable….well…everything!!!
I now have 3 dogs and they are all happily insured with Direct Line.
When one of my dogs broke her foot they happily went direct with the vets for the main costs, all the follow up costs I paid for but they sure were quick to settle the claim figures.
On the phone, they are always friendly, putting me, the customer, their priority, they are so kind and caring and will answer any questions and take out the neccessary action required.
Overall, Direct Line is a great insurance company, and wouldn’t change!
I feel confident with them and at ease to know my dogs are in safe hands if anything should happen.
Keep up the good work Direct Line!! x
cheap for the first year, and efficient. However the premium for the following year went up by 33%, they couldnt explain the increase. Have had to cancel the policy
I found Direct Line quick to settle vets direct, extremely slow (3months + due to backlog they said)to settle my expenses when making a claim. The premium had a significant increase after the first year. After our dog was put down and I had been told OK to cancel direct debit, I received several letters demanding a further premium for the month after her death. They had no real explanation and were very unhelpful.
