If you are looking for a Pet insurance company that will not deal with your claim for weeks (or months in my case),not tell you anything when you call apart from the fact that they have got an exceptionally large amount of claims to deal with or you would like to be told something different everytime you call, then, AVIVA are the company for you. Actually they aren’t because they aren’t really AVIVA, the operation is run by some outfit called BDML Connect Ltd. If you are considering Aviva please make sure you have A LOT of patience and money before you go ahead because the one thing that they seem unable to do is work quickly!
Exactly the same experience as the previous post. Initially refuse your claim on spurious grounds that are almost laughable in how untrue they are, then will not review your claim. I’m well outside the eight week review period and Aviva refuse to do anything about it. It’s now in the hands of the Financial Ombudsman.
Experiencing same poor service. They state they received claim 22/8 – each time I call for an update am told that they are experiencing a high level of claims. As at 27/9 have been told that they are working on 15/8 and do not know when they will reach 22/8. Am concerned that even when they do they will find some reason to decline or delay the claim. Too late to change companies as now in ongoing condition situation but very disappointed with AVIVA – will consider moving my other cats’ cover elsewhere
Beware, AVIVA do not, in fact, offer pet insurance with ‘no upper age limit’ unless the pet is already insured with them. This is manifestly unclear from the wording on their website which somewhat unequivocally states ‘there is no upper age limit.’ When challenged, their response was ‘that’s not what we mean’ which seems to call into question the validity of the statement on the website.
As above? It costs you more in phone calls than the cost of the Pet insurance.
I pulled out what a load of tosh this company is!!!!
Well, what can I say…! Thanks to all of you for posting your concerns re ‘Aviva’ – or whoever they might be. I was strung alot of balony from them about how great they are, and I nearly signed up, but something told me to keep looking…glad I did! But I still have no insurance for one of my cats….what a minefield all of this is!!
Don’t touch it with a bargepole! We had a claim shortly after taking out their insurance. They refused to pay on spurious grounds. I complained and they reconsidered and again it was a no. My vet contacted them to no avail. I finally threatened referring them to the Ombudsman and they finally paid out. I cancelled my policy and went elsewhere.
