Argos pet insurance has been protecting pets for a few years now and have a range of options available for cats and dogs. Owners can choose from 3 cover levels including Platinum which offers lifetime cover.

I spent a lot of time looking for pet insurance for my new Golden puppy. I think that Argos platinum is an excellent policy. I like that their is added extras such as complimentary treatments and £100 towards cremation costs. When I rang up a few times to confirm things in the policy they were very very helpful. I have recommended them to several of my friends already.
I searched a lot of companies to fnd the right pet insurance for my Jack Russell as I wated to make sure that there would be no hidden extras should she fall ill. I found Argos to be one of the cheapest yet most comprehensive cover, I would recommened to everyone.
Would not recommend this insurance to anyone. How disapointing, frustrating and time-consuming are Argos?? After submitting a claim for my six month old puppy, I still have not received any payment. Why….because my claim form is missing information prior to the date he was actually born!!! I continually chase Argos (as they don’t bother to contact me), only to be told my claim form in not complete, I then explain again that he was not born and get different responses from the customer service agents (although I find them very polite!)
i would not use this company again i made a claim they lost my paper work four time i faxed it twice and they cliamed not to have got it they then did not pay out after saying that they would cover they made no contact what so ever all contact had to be made by my self
cheap is not always best i think they should stick to selling tacky goods
Payed out after 5 weeks for injury to cat no complaints.
Please, please do not insure with Argos. I insured my Shar Pei puppy with them and have had nothing but bother with the claims submitted. Like the other reviewer they continually stated that they lost the paperwork(eight times), never followed up on anything, made promises that they did not keep. They took sixteen weeks to pay a claim, caused bad feeling with myself and a vet that I have used for 15 years. I have never spoken to or dealt with such incompetant staff. To top it all the exact same thing happened with a second claim. I have 5 dogs in total – the other 4 with another company who I have never had any bother with. I don’t know what I was thinking about when I gave Argos a try. I suppose in their favour they did admit that I had received a terrible service from them and they did pay compensation to both myself and a charity of my choice (Shar Pei Rescue & Welfare UK). I guess it is a true saying that you get what you pay for and I for one will never recommend them to anyone or buy insurance from them again. If I could give them 0 stars I would
Very poor service indeed. Both myself and my parents took out pet cover with Argos the top level one. My father claimed for a simple blood test and paid the vet up front, as for receiving his money back it took 3 months, we made around 6 calls to Argos to chase the claim for my dad and were give excuses all the time e.g. lost paperwork, oh we haven’t had the pets history sheet from the vets when our vets assured us that they had sent it over a month ago, totally ridiculous and my father is 76 years old and the 140.00 was a lot of money for him to wait to receive back. To top things off me and my husband have just had a renewal going up after just one year for my own pet insurance with Argos and have never made any claims and they have increased it from 18.66 a year to 32.00 a month. Stay well clear of Argos. Very, very poor customer service.
I have had my german shepherd covered with Argos since he was a puppy, he is now 5yrs old.
I have never claimed but this year his premiums went from £23 per month to £44.
I think they want to discourage people to stay with them once the dogs get slightly older and the chances of claiming rise. Well it worked with me as we cancelled our policy and have got another much cheaper.
Oh dear, I’ve just taken out Argos insurance for my puppy. Thinking of cancelling. Have those of you who are being fobbed of been in contact with the Insurance Ombudsman/ Maybe you should!
I had to make a claim when my 11 month old Westie died during a difficult operation. Argos paid up in full. As others have said on here it did take six weeks to receive the check due to a backlog of claims arising due to a lack of staff. Apart from that no problem at all.
Our German Shepherd puppy had to have vet treatment (X-ray, antibiotics etc:) which has run into several thousand pounds. Of course we made a claim to Argos. They sat on the claim until we rang and only then did they say they wanted further info: from the breeder. Since then claims forms have been back and forth to the vets. We are still waiting to be re-imbursed. If it wasn’t for the fact that no other insurer would take the dog on for the same complaint to the dogs leg if necessary in the future, we would definitely cancel the policy and go elsewhere. Anyone wishing to take out insurance, I strongly suggest to read plenty reviews.
Excellent service, very pleasant communications with staff. Paid out promptly, no quibbles.
